The Deli Connection dba Gandolfo's Deli
While Tommy and Jared were driving the trucks in Wyoming, Bob was in Rigby running the Topp Dawg wagon. Bob had a visit from the owner of Gandolfo's Deli at the wagon. They spoke about a Gandolfo's store that needed help in Idaho Falls. We got together, talked and prayed much and decided that Gandolfo's was our next step. Thankfully this came, because in the next couple of months, the economy would drop off and the trucking would halt! Since October 2008 we have been in Idaho Falls spreading the word about Gandolfo's, building the brand, serving AWESOME food, and giving THE BEST customer service around!
The Dumping Crew
We start our story in 2007 in Rigby, Idaho. Bob was working for SHOPKO, Tommy was working for Coca Cola, and Jared was working for Lincoln Court. They wanted to get away from the day to day grind and start their own business. The boys got the idea to buy two Kenworth T800 dump trucks. They had a blast learning to drive, to work on, and operate these beasts. They traveled all over Idaho and Wyoming hauling dirt, rock, and asphalt. Many lessons were learned and many fond memories were made! Here is Tommy and their first truck with his son Zac who was 3yrs old at the time.

Topp Dawg Cuisine
While the dump trucks provided a great income during the summer months, winter was a whole different story. Not a lot of dirt work, paving, or demolition take place during the frigid winters of Idaho. We had to have something to do to make money during the winter. Remember, Tommy, loves cooking and remembers eating at a hot dog stand in CA. He had the idea to open a Hot Dog wagon in Rigby. They were able to procure an old Coke wagon. With some modifications done to make it a legal mobile food wagon, they were off and running... Making Gourmet Hot Dogs in Rigby, Idaho!
